„Palestinian customs agents destroyed 45 tons on Monday of what they said were spoiled foodstuffs and products from Israeli settlements which are banned in the Palestinian market.

According to officials, the expired products included chocolates, dates, jams, juices, coffee. Most of these products were found to have been labeled with false expiration dates.“

„Palestinian Authority customs agents destroyed five tons of expired foodstuffs on Wednesday.

Head of the customs office in Bethlehem Amin Abu I’qeil said that two tons of dates, one ton of chocolate candies, one ton of flour, and one half ton of rice was destroyed along with two hundred bottles of shampoo

Abu I’qeil said that the display of expired food increases during Ramadan, but that the practice occurred less this Ramadan than last year, noting that customs officers destroyed 10-15 tons of expired food last Ramadan.“
