Weil er sich abfällig über Araber geäußert und eine Bürgerwehr gegründet haben soll, die vornehmlich gegen Araber patrouillierte, wurde Oren Milstein, der stellvertretende Bürgermeister von Karmiel, von seiner Gemeinde gefeuert:
„Milstein’s troubles began in mid- September, when, during an interview with the newspaper B’sheva, he said, ‚Karmiel is a Jewish city, plain and simple. It was founded for the Jews of the Galilee and it is not right for Arab families to move here. In recent years, there has been an ongoing effort by our neighbors from the villages in the Western Galilee to live in Karmiel and we cannot ignore this phenomenon.'“
Ein Händler aus Bethlehem, der von Juden hergestellte Produkte aus Holz in seinem Geschäft verkaufen wollte, wurde deshalb von „Sicherheitskräften“ der PA des auch als Mahmoud Abbas firmierenden „Palästinenserpräsidenten“ Abu Mazen verhaftet und wartet nun auf seine Verurteilung:
„Abbas‘ legal advisor Hasan Al-Ouri was quoted by the official Palestinian news agency WAFA at the time as saying the regulations would target ‚the cancers found in the Palestinian body, which target the Palestinian people’s humanity, soil, and fate.'“
